Web innovation and technological trends are at least as unexpected as others, maybe more than that. However, several trends have formed, some of which have permeated for a year or more. There will be technological advances, attitude shifts and various convergences of devices, websites, personal tech and smart applications. Websites –

The website in 2011 will continue to display a lot of white space but with bold typography and a surprising color scheme. More than ever, websites will reflect all the other elements of the company brand standards. The usage of bold, dynamic images will be employed to attract and invite visitors in. Huge images create a visual impact that the visitor’s won’t soon forget. In 2011, web designers will find themselves more comfortable using these visual statements in their design to convey the site’s tone.

Social Media –

Facebook will continue to dominate. With financial support from Goldman-Sachs, there is absolutely no doubt that the continued dominance of Facebook will continue with more and more businesses looking to expand their web presence by having a Facebook page. Another emerging trend will be the usage of Meta Tools that can publish to several social sites. Almost all newly popular social tools support Facebook, Twitter, Linkedln etc. Some of the tools, such as Amplify, Sendible and Sprout Social, tackle the problem of reaching all of your contacts, friends and followers across several different platforms.

Can we get a better deal by buying together? Of course we always do it, when we buy more, we get a discount. But hey, I only need a few of those, I can’t possibly buy in bulk not even if I get all my friends together. But hey, who says you need your friends along to get a deal? You can get one easily on the Internet without any big issue, doesn’t matter even if you are buying one or ten!

Tu??ng?u – the original concept which loosely translates as team buying or group buying (also known as store mobbing), which started in China. That’s the idea behind a new type of “group purchase” website – at least one of which might be worth more than $ 1 billion.

Group buying has been one of the biggest web trends in 2010 and it comes with a simple principle, if there are enough people to buy, it comes with a huge discount. The discounts are so super that sometimes people land up getting 50% to 75% of the product cost. However if a number is not reached, the deal is not viable and does not go through resulting a no deal.

Even investors today see this as a hot trend and millions of dollars are being invested in such group buying sites. The catch here is simple – one single site cannot possibly cover the all the local markets and all the cities of the world.
